Here’s a couple of Tassie lads excelling in their field of turf management. Well done boys 👌

🎊Congratulations to TasTAFE Certificate III Sports Turf Management graduates Jess MacLaren (pictured 3rd from left) and Jack Pearce (pictured 4th from right) who represented Tasmania at the Australian Sports Turf Management (ASTMA) Conference & Trade Exhibition - the largest event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

Jack, who works for Burnie City Council was vying for the ASTMA Graduate of the Year Award (Golf) against five other state finalists. Jess, who works for Devonport City Council was in the running for the ASTMA Graduate of the Year Award (Sports fields & Grounds). Both presented to a judging panel and underwent an interview process as part of the judging for the awards.

And while Jack and Jess didn’t make it to the podium on the awards night, they represented Tasmania admirably and acquitted themselves extremely well during the judging process.

Congratulations Jack and Jess – We are proud of your efforts! 👏
