We’d love to see what our Artisans’ Guild community has been creating lately.

Your work might just inspire someone else to pick up their tools and create.

Meet Artisans’ Guild member Kaye Thompson, pictured here with one of her beautiful beaded creations.

Kaye has always loved craft, but her love of creating also carries a very special connection.

“I have always loved craft. I had a special-needs daughter who was very clever with craft and art. She passed away five years ago, and I was left with many lovely craft items and lots of beautiful beads.”

Those beads have continued to inspire Kaye’s creativity. Today she enjoys making jewellery, beaded pictures, wall hangings, Tree of Life pieces, suncatchers — and just about anything involving beads!

It’s stories like Kaye’s that make a visit to the Artisans’ Guild Gallery about more than simply looking at beautiful handmade pieces. Every item has been created by a local artist or artisan, and often there is a story, memory or passion behind it.

Come in, have a browse and discover what our members have been creating. You may even find something special to take home.

From such simple materials come the most beautiful artworks.

Looking vaguely like a innocent chalk box, this incredible container holds a world of colour, tones and shades of pastels which have been collected, and lovingly used on an almost daily basis for years.

Visit our gallery to see just what developed from today's endeavours.

A lovely reason to pop into the Artisans’ Guild Gallery

Guild member Joy Weatherall is pictured here with one of her beautiful paintings currently on display in the gallery. It’s a wonderful example of the original work you can discover when you visit — and, of course, there’s much more to see from our talented local artists and artisans.

If you haven’t visited for a while, come in for a browse, enjoy the latest displays and perhaps find a piece that speaks to you. Supporting the gallery also means supporting local creatives and keeping our local arts community thriving.

Joy’s painting is on display throughout September — but seeing artwork in person is always better than seeing it on a screen!

Come and have a look. You never know what you might discover.

Creativity thrives when people come together. Here’s some lovely moments captured at the Guild this month — artisans sharing ideas, techniques, and plenty of conversation. Being an artisan is as much about community as it is about creativity.

Artwork of the Week. Marie Browning has long been admired for the delicate handling she uses for the subjects of her paintings.

Created in oils, this group of Pelicans lining the shorefront can almost be heard as they preen and dry in the sunshine.

Marie's paintings can be enjoyed hanging in both the Gallery in Burpengary and the shop in Caboolture Square . Take a look, and you won't be disappointed.

Our members create an incredible range of work, and this is just another example of the talent abounding within the Guild.
