Two African horned cucumbers, (wrongly named Kiwano, tsch tsch New Zealand). One weighs in at 245 grms, the other 128 grm. When fully ripe the mottling remains but changes colour to a vibrant orange. Inside the green flesh resembles Chinese Gooseberries, (Kiwi fruit, sigh), but tastes nothing like, bleh is probably closest. They sometimes find their way onto the grocers shelves as ripe, over priced to discourage buyers, they’re decoration.
But when young they are the best tasting cucumbers you’ll ever use. How young? Let’s find out, well I’ll find out for you.
