There’s something different about creating something for someone you know.
This shirt was painted for a friend, and every little detail was chosen with him in mind.

That’s one of the things I’ve always loved most about making things by hand.

You’re not just decorating an object or filling a blank space. You’re taking pieces of someone, the things they love, their personality, their story, and turning them into something they can actually keep.

I’ve created in so many different ways over the years, but pieces like this remind me why handmade has always felt so special to me.

Because sometimes what you’re really making isn’t just art.
It’s something that belongs to someone’s story. 🤍

This one took a while.

Tiny dots, tiny lines, changing colours halfway through, staring at it for way too long wondering what it needed next… and then adding just one more detail about 500 times.

That’s usually how these pieces happen.

I rarely know exactly what they’re going to look like when I start. I just keep adding, changing and playing until eventually my brain goes…
Yep. That’s it. 🎨

And somehow, this time, all that creative chaos became a clock.

A very colourful reminder that sometimes I'm not particularly good at keeping things simple.

You don’t have to finish everything first.

You don’t have to tick every box.
Clean the house.
Answer every email.
Be productive enough.
Do something useful first.

You’re allowed to do something simply because it makes you happy.

Somewhere along the way, we learned to treat joy like a reward we get after everything else is done.

But the list is never really done, is it?

So use the nice paints.
Make the thing.
Play the music.
Take the afternoon.
Do whatever makes you feel a little more alive.

You don’t have to earn it. 🤍

Some people meditate. I make knots. 😂🤍
There’s something about working with my hands that makes everything else go a little quieter.

One knot.
Then another.
No rushing. No overthinking. Just making something slowly and watching it come together.

It might not technically count as meditation… but my brain definitely thinks it does. 😂
And at the end of it, I get a candle holder too. Win win. ✨

What’s your version of therapy?

Before Craft Soul looked like it does now… creativity looked a little different. 🤍

I’ve painted walls, jackets, canvases, cars, random objects… and apparently, at some point, an entire trailer. 😂

Looking back at these old projects always makes me smile because they remind me that I’ve never really needed one “thing” to define me creatively.

I just needed to create.
Different materials. Different ideas. Different seasons of life.

The style changes.
Life changes.
I change.

But that part of me that sees a blank surface and immediately thinks “I could make something out of that…” is still very much here. ✨
And I hope it always will be.

What’s the most random thing you’ve ever created? 😂

Sometimes I miss creating things for absolutely no reason.

No strategy.
No collection.
No wondering if anyone would buy it.

Just an idea in my head and that little feeling of I need to make this. ✨
This jacket was one of those pieces.

And looking back at some of the things I’ve made over the years reminds me that creativity doesn’t always need to lead somewhere.

Sometimes you paint the jacket.
You try the weird idea.
You make something completely different from what you normally make.

Just because creating it makes you feel like you.
I think I need a little more of that again. 🤍

When was the last time you made something just because you wanted to?

There’s still something about looking at a bunch of finished pieces and thinking…

I made all of that. 🥹

Not a factory.
Not a machine.
Just my hands, some cord, a lot of little knots and probably way too many hours. 😂

And I really hope that feeling never becomes normal.

Because even after making the same little things over and over, there’s still a tiny moment of pride when I see them all together, ready for a market, waiting for someone to choose one.

Maybe that’s one of the best parts of making things by hand.
Watching something that started as an idea slowly become something real.
And getting to say…

Yep. I made that. 🤍

Not everything you create needs to become a product.

Not every hobby needs to become a business.
Not every idea needs to be shared.
Not every painting needs to be finished.
Not every creative moment needs to be useful.

Sometimes you can make something simply because you felt like making it.

No plan.
No pressure.
No need for it to become anything more.

I think somewhere along the way we became a little too obsessed with turning everything we love into something productive.

But creativity doesn’t owe us anything.
Sometimes, the making is enough. 🤍

Some pieces just make a space feel a little happier. 🤍

I made this one with a children’s room in mind, soft, playful, colourful and full of those tiny handmade details that make a space feel personal.

And seeing it like this makes me love it even more. 🥹

Because handmade isn’t just about what you create… it’s about the little corner of someone’s home it eventually becomes part of.

Made slowly.
Made with my hands.
Made to bring a little colour to everyday life. 🌈

Would you put this in a little one’s room? 🤎
