Wax varnish is an excellent alternative to spray on or brush on varnish. It’s perfect over dried oil, acrylic or even watercolour. It has a really low odour and buffs to a Matt, satin or gloss sheen making it very versatile. We love the Langridge Artist Colours wax varnish as it contains just refine beeswax and low toxic solvent making it much safer for you and for the environment. Here’s a little demo of how easy it is to use.

Awagami paper is crafted using renewable plant fibres such as Kozo ( mulberry scrub), bamboo, h**p, and other traditional washi materials. These fast growing plants can be harvested much quicker than trees, making them a more sustainable choice for papermaking. Many Awagami papers also incorporate recycled fibres, and the paper making process emphasizes careful use of natural resources, including water recycling practices. The result is a beautiful, archival-quality paper that reflects both centuries of craftsmanship and a commitment to sustainability. Choosing thoughtfully made materials is one small way to support a more sustainable creative practice
