Outstanding service, great advice, and ice that actually does what it’s supposed to do.
I ordered a 5kg block of dry ice from Caboolture Ice Works for an upcoming Fraser trip after my usual Sunshine Coast supplier couldn’t fill my order this time around. I arranged collection for the day before we left and, when I arrived, the block was ready to go.
I had a chat with Rodney about my setup and whether there was anything I could do to maximise the life of the dry ice, as I was also planning to add some regular block ice. He gave me some solid, knowledgeable advice on how to set everything up to keep my already-frozen meals frozen for our 6-day trip.
Based on his advice, I decided to purchase a second 5kg block of dry ice, which Rodney packed on the spot for me, and it ended up being closer to 6kg. I also grabbed two blocks of regular block ice and two bags of party ice, and Rodney did me a very decent deal on the lot.
The advice was spot on. All the meals remained solidly frozen until Day 4, which was perfect because that’s when we needed to start thawing the last few meals anyway. Both dry ice blocks lasted well beyond the expected two days, with the last of the dry ice not fully sublimating until Day 4.
So, let’s just say my local Sunshine Coast supplier has lost my business.
Not because of bad service or an inferior product, as they haven’t done anything wrong. It’s simply because Rodney at Caboolture Ice Works exceeded all expectations.
Great product, great advice and great service. I won’t mind driving the extra 20 minutes down the highway next time.
