Looks like we’ve got some interest again for our Skytrails project!

Hey everyone, just a reminder to get out and vote this Saturday! Vote for whoever you want, we really do not want to make our project political at all, however, we will outline the facts so far.

1. Linda Cooper -LNP Candidate Barron River, with David Chrisafulli (Shadow minister for Tourism) has pledged $150 000 for a feasiblilty study for the project. - if LNP become the Govt)

2. Micheal Healy - Labour Cairns, has come out as a very big advocate for the project, and is also tipped to be the Tourism Minister if Labour remain in Govt. Labour has said there will be more money for regional tourism projects.

Regardless of who gets 'in' on Saturday, we are committed to making this project a priority and seeing it thru to the end. We are confident the incoming Govt, will see the benefit of the project for the region and MTB Community as a whole. We believe with the community support that we have we will make this a reality in some way shape or form.

Just vote, then get out and ride.

So great to meet Cass and the team from Ride Fundamentals - Bike Skills & MTB Tours which coaches MTBing skills to adults and kids of all ages and abilities. So awesome to see so many kids getting excited about the sport. Get in touch with them if you are new to MTBing or want to get your kids involved.

**Great News** We got word yesterday that Cairns Regional Council has unanimously endorsed the 'COVID-19 Cairns Local Recovery Plan' which includes the expansion of the MTB trail network.

The Thirsty MTB Crew this morning ready to join the 75 riders in the Enduro #1 Race at Smithfield. Everyone survived with no bones broken. Good result. Look forward to the next Enduro in September.

David Crisafulli - Broadwater MP and Linda Cooper - LNP for Barron River announced today that they have pledged $150,000 to conduct a detailed feasibility study on the project, if elected in October. We don't know politics, but it is good to hear that actual dollars is being thrown at the project and hopefully, this is just the start!
