I thought it was about time to put faces to names 😊 We're the family behind Revolvashade.

We both grew up in manufacturing families - Andy in Switzerland, and Katie (me) in South Africa. Andy loves all things manufacturing, product design, and learning and integrating new techniques and machinery into our products. And I love connecting with people, operations and marketing.

Even though I've been lucky enough to have a pool most of my life, my first experience of shade at a pool was when our now-big girl was a year old, and Andy and I balanced a beach umbrella between our shoulders to give her shade. I thought that peace of mind was wonderful; we took her out of the pool when she was ready, not when we started worrying about the sun.

Months later, we took over Revolvashade and the first umbrella made was for our own home. I can't explain the ease of which we use our pool and deck ever since on hot days. I would definitely be that Mum that says 'it's too hot and sunny to swim!' without our umbrella 😂

We’re on the hunt for a motivated Fitter/Installer to join our crew here at Pickers Vinyl & Canvas – a family-owned business with over 40 years of local experience in shade sails, awnings, blinds, banners, and Tonneau covers.
👉 You must be a current resident of the Cairns area to be considered for this role.
✨ What You'll Be Doing:
Installing shade sails, posts, roof fittings & outdoor blinds
Digging holes (both manual and with equipment)
Setting up and pouring concrete footings
Carrying & fitting steel frames and support structures
Working at heights (ladders & harness gear)
Using levels, measuring tools & Android devices to log job info
💪 We’re Looking For Someone Who:
Has a current manual driver’s licence (essential!)
Is physically fit & ready for hands-on work
Is confident with tools & machinery
Enjoys working both solo and in a team
Has a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude
📜 Certs You’ll Need:
White Card (Construction Safety)
Working at Heights ticket
Manual Driver Licence

At Pickers Vinyl & Canvas, we’ve been creating shade sails, awnings, blinds & more for over 40 years – and we’re looking for a new legend to join our install crew!

🔧 What you’ll be doing:
• Installing shade sails, blinds & outdoor covers
• Digging, concreting & setting posts
• Working with steel structures & tools
• Using levels & tech to get everything spot-on
• Getting hands-on in the great outdoors

💪 What we’re looking for:
• Manual driver’s license (must-have)
• Physically fit & ready for hands-on work
• Comfortable with tools & heights
• Team player with a great attitude

🎟️ You’ll need:
• White Card
• Working at Heights
• Driver’s License

⭐ Bonus if you have:
• Blue Card
• Excavator ticket
