Working with Peter Flower (3 Bulls) for over six months to build this fabulous marlin. We would love to have it on display at a venue for all anglers in Cairns to see. It is a fish caught by the movie actor, Lee Marvin in 1973. At 4.6 meters it weighed 1,320 lbs. and the boat Captain was Brazaka. The 3D fiberglass cast made on Lizard Island from the real fish, was the first time this had ever been attempted on such a large fish by Ian Pike. And in the 1990s , Ian and I started a plan to restore the cast and build a new mount, finally got around to it.
Wonderful to be able to build this exceptional mount 53 years on. It will be the last very large build for me

Entered this great casting of a 600kg Black marlin in the June Australian wild life artists show. Was happy to win Masters for a fish replica and Masters for the show. The original mould was cast off the fish in 1979 by Ian Pike and myself. I thank AusAWA for putting on the show in Melbourne
