🧶 LEARNING SPINNERS GROUP – STARTING SOON! 🧶

New to spinning wool? Curious to know how to make your own yarn? Then this is for you! A Learning Spinners group is starting at Caloundra Arts Centre!

📅 First Day: Saturday 3 October 2026
⏰ 9am–12pm
📍 Caloundra Arts Centre Association, 5 North Street, Caloundra
🔄 The group will meet fortnightly

These Saturday sessions are ideal for anyone wanting to learn spinning techniques, explore different fibres and develop their skills. The group leader will provide guidance and demonstrations, with some “homework” to enjoy between sessions.

The Learning Spinners is a sub-group of Caloundra Spinners & Weavers.

🧶 Have a spinning wheel? Great – bring it along! If you don’t have one yet, there’s no rush to purchase a wheel or buy your own fibres. Several wheels will be available for beginners to learn on initially, and fibre for learning and practising will be supplied at a nominal cost.

C**A's Caloundra Spinners & Weavers group meets every Tuesday, 9am–12pm. This small, friendly group is versatile and highly skilled, producing work to a very high standard.

Discover loads of craft, sewing and art supplies, including fabrics, embroidery & haberdashery, yarns, beads, paper products & cardmaking, paints, books, and much, much more.

Free entry, free onsite and street parking. Bring your crafty friends and neighbours plus plenty empty bags to fill! Cash preferred for purchases. Family friendly event. Coffee and other refreshments available too. Indoors and with bargain treasures to find, who can resist popping in?

It was an absolute joy to host the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce’s Coffee in Caloundra networking event! ☕️

A huge thank you to all our groups, members and volunteers who helped set up the wonderful displays and make the event happen. And, of course, thank you to everyone who came along!

We loved sharing our creative space, making new connections and catching up with old ones. It was a fantastic morning, and we hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did. What a great community 💙✨

🩵 Our creative community just got a lot cooler — literally!

Caloundra Arts Centre Association extends a massive thank you to the Sunshine Coast Council 🙏.

Thanks to the Council’s generous support, we have been able to purchase and install additional air-conditioning units in our venue. Their 'Major Grant Community Facilities' contribution has made a wonderful difference to our community organisation, creating a much more comfortable and enjoyable centre for everyone.

We also want to express our gratitude for the council’s Community Partnership Funding Program. As a current recipient, this funding provides crucial relief against rising operational costs. This means we can keep doing what we do best: fostering the arts and offering a space where people love to gather, create, learn and connect.

Thank you, Sunshine Coast Council, for investing in our community and making such a positive difference!

THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our Open Days 2026 a success! 💛

It was wonderful to see such a diverse range of arts and crafts being demonstrated and on display, and our community coming together to share their passion, skills and creativity. Thank you to our volunteers, artists, makers, performers, members and visitors for being part of such a vibrant and welcoming weekend full of inspiration. We couldn't have done it without you!

We look forward to seeing you again at Caloundra Arts Centre soon.
