RIP Gerry Conway (1952–2026)
Today the comic world feels a little quieter.
We’ve lost Gerry Conway, one of the most influential writers in comic book history, and a creator whose work helped shape the modern age of superheroes.
Gerry wasn’t just a writer, he was a storyteller who understood what made heroes human. He gave us unforgettable moments that still echo through comics today. From redefining Spider-Man’s world, to creating iconic characters like The Punisher, his fingerprints are all over the stories we love.
But what made Gerry truly special was that his writing always had heart. Even in the darkest moments, his characters felt real. They struggled, they broke, they rose again. And in doing that, Gerry reminded all of us why we fell in love with comics in the first place.
For collectors, readers, and creators alike, his legacy isn’t just measured in issues sold or characters created.
It’s measured in impact.
It’s measured in the kid who picked up a comic for the first time and found comfort in those pages.
It’s measured in the fans who grew up with these characters and carried those stories into adulthood.
Gerry Conway helped define an era, and his stories will live on as long as comics exist.
