๐งChange Water Daily: Empty and scrub out water bowls, troughs, or containers every day to remove dirt, feed, and droppings.
๐งKeep Water Cool: Place waterers in shaded areas during hot weather to stop bacteria from multiplying rapidly and to prevent heat stress
๐งBacterial Infections: Stagnant or waste-contaminated water breeds Salmonella, E. coli, and Streptococcus, causing severe diarrhea, dehydration, and internal organ failure.
๐งParasites: Protozoa like Coccidia thrive in wet, dirty conditions and puddles, leading to coccidiosis (bloody droppings, intestinal damage, and high mortality in young birds and livestock).
๐งBiofilms and Toxins: Slime layers (biofilms) inside pipes and waterers shield harmful bacteria from disinfectants, while algae blooms in heat release fatal toxins.
๐งDehydration & Appetite Loss: Unclean or foul-smelling water makes animals drink less, which drops feed intake, lowers milk or egg production, and causes rapid weight loss.
๐งSame rules to ALL pets whether they be domesticated or wild. ๐ง๐ฟ๐ง๐ฟ๐ง๐ฟ๐ง
๐งShared pet bowls also carry a chance of infection in dogs (eg. worms, kennel cough etc) please be mindful.
