Bougainvilleas have become so popular. Gardeners have discovered if you grow them in pots they are more manageable in small gardens and they flower through the warmer months and make everyone happy.

Gardeners from warmer countries love Bougainvilleas, it reminds them of home, they absolutely love the bright colours.

We always get excited when a new delivery arrives.
What colours do we have this time???? These aren’t labelled so you need to hurry in so you know what colour you’re getting.

They grow spectacularly in Tim’s Best Potting mix, don’t disturb the roots, very gently tip your Boug out of the pot. Don’t tickle these, they just want to be planted quickly and watered well.

They love those sunny spots around your house, they are sun lovers, more sun, more flowers, it’s simple. Prune them to keep tidy, it’s easy. They will grow in pots for ever. Zoom zoom. These are walking out.

Nicole sent me a lovely photo yesterday of her Tomato plant which she recently planted using Tim’s Best Potting mix. She was so surprised how quickly her plant has grown compared to other mixes she is using.
Isn’t that nice.

A lot of gardeners are sceptical at first when they hear how good our Tim’s Best Potting mix is. Why wouldn’t you be? But then you use it, and you start sharing photos with me, and you tell your friends, and everyone starts to have success growing plants in pots.
Isn’t that beautiful.

A big thanks to everyone who bought a Red Scarf from us this winter. You helped us raise $650.00 for The African AIDS Foundation in Camden.

The Red Scarf has become a bit of a signature for me, I almost never take it off. I had it on this morning while I was walking the dog.

Passionfruit are back in stock today!!!!!

We had so many phone calls from gardeners all over Sydney wanting to know if our Giant Black Passionfruit have arrived. These amazing cutting grown plants don’t sucker like grafted varieties, yet they still give you huge sweet tasting fruit.

Plant them on a mound of Tim’s Best Potting mix improved soil, yes dig a bag into your garden then plant your vine in this.

Water twice weekly with a bucket of water and it will grow so fast you’ll get a big surprise. It will cover your ugly fence with tropical green foliage.

The most spectacular flowers will soon follow then the sweet tasting fruit. You’ll be making Pavlovas for dinner, life has never been this good.

My neighbour has planted Native Frangipani trees and everytime I open my gate I can smell the sweet perfume.
Yes this Native tree has the same perfume as the Frangipani that we all love.

But this Native Frangipani is evergreen, and it’s an upright, faster growing tree that has these white flowers that fade to yellow.

I’ve noticed these trees are drought tolerant once established and they have lovely glossy green leaves. They could help save your house during bushfires. The glossy leaves are full of water.

We have Native Frangipani in the nursery today.
I think your garden needs one.

Rose Cherokee is absolutely amazing. It’s a super vigorous Climbing Rose, it only flowers for about a week.
It’s like watching a bonfire, and then it’s over.
But wow it’s so spectacular, I just had to show you.
We do have one plant in stock. This is something you grow over the farm shed. It’s like planting Barbed Wire!!!

Have you got a narrow garden where nothing seems to grow because it’s hot and dry? Well this could be the perfect solution for you, it’s called Society Garlic. It’s a grey grassy looking plant with these amazing mauve flowers during spring.

Tulbaghia violacea, commonly known as Society Garlic. It’s one of the toughest plants on the planet once it becomes established. It thrives in those hot dry spots where other plants often fail.

Of course it will grow faster if you dig Tim’s Cow manure into your garden first. It conditions the soil and makes it hold more water. Your plants will soon look like this.

Plant them 50cms apart. Once you’ve got one they can be split up and divided. It’s money for nothing. We have plants in the nursery, there’s a variegated variety that might tickle you too.

Loropetalum ‘Plum Gorgeous’ is an amazing hedging plant and it’s so easy to grow. You will notice it’s been used as a low hedge in Mawson Park and it’s always beautifully clipped. Despite the heavy pruning it’s in flower today.

Loropetalum ‘Plum Gorgeous’ is one of the hardiest hedging plants on the planet. It will take heat and the cold, it will grow in country gardens.

It’s famous for its beautiful plum coloured foliage. In spring it gets covered in these flowers. It colours up more when grown in full sun.

It can be pruned at any height or width. It can grow 2.5ms high if you let it grow. Plant them 800mms apart for a quick hedge. Start lightly pruning them straight away and they will grow even faster.

This variety can be hard to find in nurseries because it usually comes from Victoria and supply is limited.

I’m always seeing beautiful things, often those beautiful things are trees, sometimes it’s people, I see beauty where ever I go. I’ve noticed these Waterhousia floribunda growing in Queen street.

This block of units isn’t beautiful but someone had the foresight to plant these native trees and they made these units liveable. You look out now onto lush green foliage instead of a Car-yard.

One day this Car yard will be another block of units so the trees will become even more important. They will be a barrier, a screen of foliage instead of other people.

I see this and I think about other people living in houses that look out onto other houses and I think how fabulous these trees would be for those smaller backyards. I think how fabulous these trees would look. The lower branches could be removed so you’ve still got your backyard.

You could put your outdoor table and chairs here and you’ve made yourself another room for the family to escape. It will be so cool in summer, you will hear the birds. Nature will come and live in your trees because nature loves privacy too.

I walked past this fabulous looking shrub today and it had the most amazing flowers, which had the most beautiful perfume. It’s called “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.”

It’s a funny name for a shrub, but the flowers change colour almost every day. They come out mauve then fade to white during the week.

I love this old world shrub, with its glossy green leaves, and highly fragrant flowers. It grows in full sun or part sun and there are dwarf or taller growing varieties available at our nursery.

Like many plants in this family, the flowers are toxic so don’t eat them, and don’t let your pets eat them.

There are many toxic plants in your garden including Tomato plants, so don’t eat them either.
