Lake bullen merri, it’s minnow spawning time, from late July to October is the main spawning season, under darkness they come into the rock s around the lake edges in their hundreds, lay their eggs around 50mm above the water level, these eggs will remain there for about a week, wet from the rocks moisture, before the waves & wind action washes them back into the water to hatch. Potting minnows at this time of year can be almost impossible due their spawning schedule, the rocks around the eggs will look milky due to the slim & spawning activity the minnows leave behind during spawning.

Purrumbete water level update, had a few fishos wanting a update on levels, will still take approximately 2 years of good rains to get things stable again, no flood waters behind where I live yet, when I get flood waters then the lake will fill up fast, keep using the temporary boat ramp, 49mm for July, 51mm for August at my place, the drains have water in them leading into the lake, but very little flow. Hopefully by 2028 things will get back to some normal for the lake.@
