🧺🎶 NAIDOC Week celebrations continue at Poppyfield Commons!
TODAY: WED 8 JULY | Weaving Day (10am – 12pm)
Discover the art of traditional weaving in our Weaving Workshop (wait list available only), then enjoy the NAIDOC Treasure Hunt, Colouring Competition and help create our Reconciliation Canvas.
TOMORROW: THU 9 JULY | Music Day (11am – 1pm)
Celebrate culture through music and creativity with our RAP Workshop [Age 12+] and Clapsticks Art Workshop (limited bookings available). You can also take part in the NAIDOC Colouring Competition and contribute to our Reconciliation Canvas.
The RAP workshop [bookings required - Ages 12+ Only] will be led by “Wizz” Michael Weir, one half of the Queanbeyan-based hip-hop duo Stik n Move. With more than a decade of experience producing, writing and performing music together, Stik n Move bring creativity, energy and storytelling to their work. In this workshop, Wizz will guide participants to explore rap, music and art as powerful tools for self-expression, connection and creativity.
