Old doesn’t mean finished. Sometimes it just needs a little imagination.

This afternoon we are showcasing Studio Shabuk’d, where upcycling is all about making old new again.

Rescued fabrics, vintage finds and forgotten materials are transformed into one-of-a-kind clothing, jewellery, mosaics and more.

Nothing mass produced. No two pieces the same. Just rescue, reinvention and a whole lot of creativity.

Pop in this afternoon, meet the maker and see what can happen when old is given another life.

Happy Father's Day!

To the dads who show up, know how to fix things, drive us everywhere, tell lame dad jokes, and who ask for nothing in return, today is for you.

Spring's putting on a show today, so get outside. Take him for a walk (down Appel St, Canungra, to visit The Maker Space), sit in the sun, and let the kids run wild while he actually switches off for once.

He doesn't need more socks. NO, seriously!

He needs a stubby holder that's actually leather, a coffee cup someone threw by hand, and soap that isn't from a supermarket shelf.

The Maker Space Canungra has all of it - plus tea, coffee, cards, keyrings, pen holders, and balm for all those aches and pains (aka the kids. Joking! :)). Handmade, local, done properly.

I don't think we can say THANK YOU enough to the people behind the scenes at The Maker Space and today we want to say a HUGE thank you to Carmelle from studio shabuk'd.

Carmelle works tirelessly behind the scenes as our Retail Manager to ensure that The Maker Space is always looking its best, ready to receive visitors from far and wide. It's not an easy task to ensure all our makers are showcased beautifully in our creative hub, but if anyone can do, Carmelle can do it! And as she was recently heard to say after a long couple of days of merchandising, "If you ever need to fit a 4 bedroom house into a hatchback, I'm your girl!"...and we couldn't agree more :)

Today we’re showcasing Studio Shabuk’d, where upcycling is reimagined and forgotten materials are given a whole new life.

From one-of-a-kind clothing created from rescued and vintage fabrics, to jewellery, mosaics and more. Everything is about seeing the potential in what already exists and turning it into something completely unique.
