Trade and heavy weights dominated, with lighter grades in limited supply. Competition improved across the sale, pushing the market to a dearer trend.

๐Ÿ“ˆ ๐—ง๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ & ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐˜† ๐—Ÿ๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐˜€: New season trade lambs sold strongly, reaching $310/head, while old season trade lambs were firm to $7 dearer. Heavy lambs also enjoyed a lift of $3 to $10/head, with extra heavy lambs topping at $375.50/head. Light trade Merino lambs sold around $220/head.

๐Ÿ ๐— ๐˜‚๐˜๐˜๐—ผ๐—ป: Mutton numbers lifted slightly and quality was mixed, with prices around $6/head stronger. Heavy first cross ewes reached $330/head.

๐Ÿ“ ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐˜: Overall, a much-improved result, with stronger competition helping lift prices across the trade, heavy lamb and mutton categories.

Weaner steers eased 10c to a top of 624c/kg, while feeder steers were cheaper, with most selling between 500c and 586c/kg. Feeder heifers were mostly firm to slightly cheaper, reaching 540c/kg.

๐Ÿฅฉ ๐—š๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ป ๐—–๐—ฎ๐˜๐˜๐—น๐—ฒ & ๐—–๐—ผ๐˜„๐˜€: Prime grown steers and heifers eased 15c to 20c/kg, with limited numbers of prime grown steers and bullocks available. Heavy grown heifers were better represented, while cow prices slipped 3c to 6c/kg, with the best heavy cows reaching 420c/kg.

๐Ÿ“‰ ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐˜: Overall, the market followed a mostly cheaper trend, with young trade cattle recording the biggest falls on limited supply.

Numbers lifted this week, with quality also improving and more weight evident throughout the yarding. There were strong lines of heavy grown steers and trade cattle, along with plenty of heavy feeders, while lighter cattle suitable for restockers were limited. Around 800 cows were offered, with all regular buyers operating.

Restocker cattle continued to attract strong interest, while trade cattle and grown steers and heifers held firm. The larger offering of feeder cattle saw competition ease, with feeder steers and heifers selling to a softer trend. Cows were the standout, ๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™ง๐™š๐™ฃ๐™œ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ 5โ€“8๐™˜/๐™ ๐™œ across the heavier weights.

37% of the yarding headed back to the paddock, 35% to feedlots, and 28% to processors.
