🎀 Introducing the Bow-tiful Scarf Pattern 🎀

Launching 9am Monday October 19 2026 on Ravelry and our website as part of the Knit For the Girls Campaign.

I had fun designing this one and was inspired to create my own pink ribbon inspired scarf. This crochet pattern is advanced beginner friendly using 8ply Cotton yarn.

For the last 2 weeks of October we will be donating $5 from every pattern sold to the campaign so together we help find a cure 💕

The colourway of this piece is an assigned pooling yarn from Mikaela - VK Yarns in Passion Pop Light

And just like that … it’s 2 years later and deciding to chase your dream is starting to pay off.

What an incredible 2 years it has been. I’m incredibly proud of the brand I have built, the art I have created and opportunities that came my way.

Weather it’s being recognised internationally for my crochet, seeing my first pattern published in Homespun magazine (yes that’s a spoiler) or being welcomed into the trucking community for “keeping their trucks warm”, my ability to design create something by hand is gift I hope to continue sharing with the world.

Since launching KTC, I have attended 15 markets and travelled 1000’s of Km internationally and interstate but what stands out the most is finding my people. I am forever grateful for the life long friendships I’m made with my fellow vendors and crafty friends. I look forward to catching up at each event.

There are plans to launch many more products, write exciting new patterns and connect at selected events, the future of Katherine the Creator looks very bright ✨

We’re looking for testers for the Bow-tiful scarf.

This is an advanced beginner crochet pattern using 8 ply yarn. I designed the pattern with assigned pooling yarn but if that’s not yours thing the pattern is also written for solid colour yarn too. ✨

Applications are open with testing to be complete by 16th October 2026.

Testing for the Bow-tiful Scarf is now open 🎉

The pattern has written instructions that can be used for 8 ply assigned pooling yarn and solid colourways.

The pattern is advanced beginner and is a 5 row repeat pattern making it a relaxing rhythmic make. I managed to make mine in a week so it’s also a fast make.

I’m calling it the “Bow-tiful Scarf” 🎀 🧣

When your ideas come to life and look even better than you thought.

I’ve been delving deeper into the world of pattern writing this year and I’m excited to say I have a new design that’s ready to make its debut.

For the Bow-tiful scarf I’ve used 100% Pima Cotton DK from vkyarns in their new Dark Citric Acid Assigned Pooling Yarn.

The crochet pattern is in the final stage of development and will be ready for testing early next week.

Currently out of office 🖤

The past few weeks have been exceptionally hard personally. Behind the scenes my four legged best mate has slowly been slipping away.

For 11 incredible years Shadow was my family and last week it was time to say goodbye.

I’m struggling to put into words how heartbroken and devastated I am at losing the centre of my world and need to take some time to grieve privately.

Emails and messages will be followed up when I return on 7th. Thank you for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time.

Thank you crafting community! You really showed up for us this weekend ✨🧶🫶🏻

It’s no secret times have been tough for small business lately but the crafting community has shown us this weekend, that you want to support our small business anyway you can.

We had our second best day of trade on Saturday and our sales are up on last year. We can’t thank you enough for helping us reach this achievement. Every purchase means the world to us, so thank you 🙏🏼

There are a lot of products that have sold out so after a short rest we will start the process of restocking.

We love catching up at these events and appreciate all the hard work that goes into making an event a successful one. A special thanks to Rebecca for organising, Jo and Jack jojozartstudio for hosting me, Robyn from chardyglendesigns for being the best stall neighbours and friends.

We have our final market in Brisbane in October before we take a well deserved break.

I’ll be offline most of this week to recover, stocktake and update the website.
