The Moss Crop. A true Crop Jumper, knitted in The Woollykins Knittery - our very own Knit Studio in Castlemaine! We are thoroughly loving our big fancy knitting Nancy ;)

Introducing the Moss Crop Jumper - a cute and stylish crop jumper in a rustic 100% untreated mulesing-free wool. This beautiful yarn has a more rugged handfeel than merino wool and feels like a proper old fisherman’s wool jumper. The textural qualities are enhanced by the moss stitch patterning along the body and sleeves. This yarn has great elasticity, firmness and recovery and is a sensory delight to our wool loving hands!

We love wearing jumpers over dresses and can never find a true crop length drop shoulder sweater, so we designed the Moss Crop and absolutely love it! It’s boxy with drop sleeves and moss stitch panels that create structure and warmth. This jumper has a beautiful shoulder line and looks super flattering on.

Small runs and available in two colours Blue Melange and Chestnut listed separately.

There are currently only one of each size left in this colour but if you miss out, we have some on the pins - all 1000+ of them - this very minute so put your name on the back in stock notification thing and you’ll find out as soon as they are finished.

We have this style in an Alpaca Tweed too... All very small runs while we find our feet but always being restocked as a new batch is completed.

Absolutely stunning photo of one of our pieces from our new Knittery. The moss crop jumper in a beautiful blend of alpaca and highland wool from Peru and a RWS merino from Tasmania spun in Italy.

It’s all about the yarn for us and these new photos by our friend perfectly capture the tactile nature of these fibres. Thanks to everyone who has bought a piece so far, it’s been a wild dream to bring a small bit of knit production in house and since the end of March we have been in a whole new world of wool, and I really didn’t think Woollykins could get any more woolly. The new photos from our shoot last week make my heart swoon!
Will share more over the coming week. It’s been so busy, insta tends to get relegated to hours after the kids go to bed and by then I’m a bit done. So do sign up to the newsletter as we will share the launch of the very first UMIFORM Castlemaine collection!

Our beautiful UMIFORM AW26 collection this year features our beautiful Peruvian made knitwear and for the first time our very own Made in Castlemaine knitwear hot out of the Knittery.

We did a photoshoot of all pieces together last week that we can’t wait to show you. For now we’re playing catch up with our labeling and finishing. Each of our pieces come with a little envelope of matching yarn which we hope you’ll keep for future mending. We hope you treasure everything ❤️

Easter is almost here 🐣🌸

A long weekend of slow mornings wearing PJs, eating Hot cross buns and hunting for eggs is just around the corner ✨

We’ve put together a little Easter inspired collection for you, featuring gots certified organic 100% merino wool Easter PJs from Nature Baby, along with beautiful new-season Engel pieces in wool/silk and 100% wool - all pure natural fibres and organically certified for a healthful slumber.

We also had some fun curating a selection of adult accessories and darning and mending supplies that feel just a little bit like Easter to us. Perfect for those who aren’t into chocolate, or for anyone who would appreciate a thoughtful, lasting gift. Hope you love them. Pop into the shop if you’re in Castlemaine town or shop online. Orders are leaving swiftly at the moment but order express if you want the best chance to receive them before Good Friday. 🐰💛

For Easter hours, we’ll be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday but the shop will be open Saturday as usual (11-4).

Woollykins had a baby last week!! It’s been such a huge week for me and the team. We welcomed the arrival of our super dooper knitting machine from Japan with the help of the amazing Shima Seiki Australia team Rod & Bianca 🤩

It’s been a long standing dream of mine to one day be able to knit our own pieces in house and after about 9 months of planning and 14 years of slowing building this business, whilst growing a family and with the support of a wonderful team of women, it finally happened! And quite fittingly all at the historic woollen mill in Castlemaine, now the hottest precinct of local makers and small businesses 😍

Swipe through for some pics from the momentous birth and the very new beginnings of what will be our first collection! We can’t wait to launch our knitwear made right here in Castlemaine to sit alongside our very favourite natural wool knitwear we’ve all come to love from Europe.

Nothing’s changing there, we just get to play with creating pieces that we haven’t been able to find in the styles, yarns and colours we love, just for you, our beautiful Woollykins community.

Now we need a name for the Woollykins baby. And what a big baby she is! Suggestions?
