🎶 What a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Mallee Creatives! 💚

A huge thank you to our wonderful local musicians Chris Wyatt & Leo Giakimis for sharing their delightful music with us as part of Sounds of Sunday. Your talent created such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, and it was a joy to see everyone enjoying the afternoon.

A special thank you also to Kate Giakimis for her fascinating weaving demonstration and for sharing her incredible skills and creativity with our visitors. It was wonderful to see so many people captivated by this traditional art.

And finally, thank you to everyone who came along to support the afternoon. Your presence, conversations and encouragement are what make Mallee Creatives such a special community space.

We look forward to welcoming you back again soon for more local art, music, coffee and connection. 💛

✨ Artist Spotlight | Kate Giakimis ✨

We’re proud to showcase the beautiful work of Charlton artist Kate Giakimis, now exhibiting at Mallee Creatives.

Inspired by the Mallee landscape, the Avoca River and a lifelong passion for creating, Kate works across acrylic painting, hand-spun weaving, hooked rag rugs and recycled fibre art. Every piece reflects a deep connection to nature, spirituality and community.

Kate’s generosity extends far beyond her exhibition. Since Mallee Creatives opened in October 2025, she has donated many handcrafted pieces for sale in the gallery, including cards, bookmarks, rugs, baskets and soap holders. Even more generously, 100% of every sale is donated back to Mallee Creatives, helping support arts and cultural activities across our region.

While the artworks featured in Kate’s exhibition are not for sale, many of her handcrafted pieces are available to purchase, and Kate is happy to consider commission work.
