For many years, Charters Flowers has been part of our community, helping celebrate life’s special moments with beautiful flowers.

Today, we are excited to share that a new chapter is beginning.

While the heart of Charters Flowers will always remain the same, we have a fresh vision for what this space can become.

More than just a florist.

A place where flowers tell stories.

A place where coffee brings people together.

A place where community matters.

Over the coming months you’ll begin to see small changes, new ideas and plenty of love being poured into creating a warm, welcoming space for everyone who walks through our doors.

We are taking things slowly and intentionally as we transition into this exciting new season, allowing our team time to settle in, learn, grow and continue providing the service our community deserves.

I sold my business before it killed me.

That sounds dramatic, but anyone who has experienced burnout will understand exactly what I mean.

For years I poured everything I had into different jobs and then my own business. My time, my energy, my creativity, my weekends, my relationships, my health. I loved it, and I am incredibly proud of what I built.

But somewhere along the way, I stopped looking after myself.

I kept pushing.
Kept showing up.
Kept telling myself that after the next busy season, the next event, the next holiday, I’d slow down.

I never did.

The hardest part about selling isn’t leaving the business. It’s letting go of the version of myself that fought so hard to build it.

This business gave me confidence, purpose, friendships, lessons, opportunities and memories I’ll carry forever. It changed my life.

When I bought this business, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I took a leap of faith, backed myself, and figured it out as I went. There were challenges, mistakes, tears, wins, and plenty of moments where I questioned myself.

But together, we’ve grown this little business into something I’m incredibly proud of.

To every customer, supporter, staff member, friend and family member who believed in me along the way thank you. Thank you for trusting me, supporting me, cheering me on and choosing to shop local. I truly couldn’t have done it without you.

Now it’s time for a different chapter.

A chapter where healing is the priority.
Where happiness matters.
Where success isn’t measured by how exhausted I am at the end of the day.

And while there’s a lot of sadness and tears in closing this chapter, there’s also excitement.

Because for the first time in a very long time, I’m choosing myself.

I’m also incredibly excited to watch Gayette bloom into this next chapter. There is nobody I’d trust more to take over something I’ve poured so much of my heart and soul into, and I can’t wait to see where she takes it.

Thank you for being part of my journey.

This isn’t goodbye.

It’s simply the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. ❤️

☕️ We had a special visitor call into the shop this week!

We finally got to meet Jonny from Cafe Corolla, who is travelling around Australia serving coffee from the back of his Toyota Corolla.

We’ve been following his journey on social media for a while now and absolutely love what he’s doing. There’s something pretty inspiring about people who back themselves, chase an idea, and have a go even when it’s a little unconventional.

So when he came through town, we invited him in for a coffee on us and took the opportunity to support his journey by buying a coffee from him too. ☕️🤍

As small business owners, we know what it takes to put yourself out there and build something from scratch. We’re passionate about supporting people who are adventuring, creating, and showing up as their authentic selves.
