There are exciting things happening at Goldtower Central... you might have wondered where the concert was at lunchtime today? 🤭

We were testing our new audio system at Poppet Head Plaza and let's just say the sound was spectacular! 🤩 There'll be no excuses not to get up and boogy at any of our future events! 💃🕺

A huge thanks to local band Poison Ivy who came back together after 10 years to help give our gear a good test and everyone who came along to listen 😊

Paul McIver and our respected local historian, Michael Brumby, recently had the honour of locating the gravesite of William Skelton Ewbank Melbourne Charters - the Gold Commissioner after whom our town, Charters Towers, is named.

Buried at Rookwood Cemetery in Sydney, Charters passed away in 1885 at the age of 52. One touching detail on his headstone is that it was erected by a friend, as he had no family dependants.

"Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them, but you know they're always there!"
