10,000 orders. We're still a bit stunned.
Brown's Craft Shed started over 20 years ago as a small fabric shop in Charters Towers, founded by Betty on a simple idea: stock beautiful, quality fabric and treat every customer like family. A few bolts of cotton, a cutting table, and a lot of good chats over it.
Twenty-odd years later, three generations of the Brown family are in here most days (with a fourth coming up through the ranks), and we've just wrapped and posted our 10,000th order since launching our website. 🎉
Some of those parcels went across town. Plenty went out to properties and small towns where the nearest fabric shop is a long, long drive. And a surprising number have travelled a very long way indeed to quilters overseas who found us online and decided a little shop in North Queensland was worth the postage. We still get a thrill every time we write out an international address.
Every one of those 10,000 orders was picked, cut, folded and packed by one of us. No warehouse, no machines. Just the family, the big cutting table, and a lot of very good fabric.
Thank you. To our locals who've been popping in for years, and to everyone who's trusted us with a project from afar. You've kept a small regional business going, growing, and still very much family-run. We don't take a single order for granted.
