Making a beautiful brindle whippet to head over to the USA soon!

Just making up an ear whilst I sit here watching the footy finals.

Look, there’s probably a better or easier way of fluffing out eyelash yarn when you’ve sewed it through your stitches, but I find this quite relaxing 🤣

Also, I need the “fluff” on this dog to look a bit wiry and not fluffy - which is what would happen if I used a brush.

What kind of dog does everyone think I’m making?

I officially learned nothing from the last time I made a rainbow cake with a cake layer that was every colour of the rainbow 😅 but… it was over 2 years ago!

I think I achieved the theme requests! Inside there are 7 layers of cake - one for each colour of the rainbow. Then we have our rolled buttercream dinosaurs and a rainbow and some mermaid tails from Choice Cakes, finished with some rainbow piping around the edges.

Big thanks to Choice Cakes for today’s cottage cake class! Loved learning how to pipe sideways directly onto a cake. New skill unlocked!

I’m not a fan of lolly bags. They’re usually full of lollies we don’t let our kids eat and half the time they’re full of little plastic things that the kids play with for 5 nano seconds and they just fill up our house!

So, I hope everyone likes rainbow dinosaur sugar cookie “lolly” bags - because that’s what they’re getting 🤣

The baking has begun. This year’s request from Miss Katherine was rainbow, dinosaurs and mermaids. Haven’t gotten to the mermaid bit yet 🤣 but dinosaurs ✅ and rainbow ✅

Thanks to Choice Cakes for the vivid gels and the dinosaur cutters!

Finished!

Six doggos for the lovely so the kiddies each have a cuddly Cooper and a cuddly Chloe

Actually pretty hard making 3 custom patterned dogs exactly the same. I had to crochet all the heads, then all the ears, all the bodies etc. just to make sure I was matching all the patterns up.

These cuddly crochet dogs make such good memorial items for kids. They can be cuddled, loved, played with and most importantly, washed!

Throwback to the time when I actually had time to sit for a couple of hours and draw.

I found all my old sketch pads from days gone by when I was packing the downstairs cupboard yesterday. I used to sit there with those old school 90’s A4 size Disney books and copy pictures of characters that looked cool.

Definitely on some of them I struggle with faces, depth perception and continuity of size as I go through - but you know, I enjoyed it. I found it therapeutic and honestly, they’re not bad for someone who never had a drawing lesson in her life.

Looking forward to the new place where I will have my dedicated craft area and desk and I can leave stuff sitting there so I can do bits at a time! Maybe I can get back into drawing again?

Btw I have pages and pages like this! Who would like to see what else I drew back in the day? I can’t promise to upload them before I move 🤣 they did all just get packed in a box.
