I’m in the middle of packing the van for our trip north when, out of nowhere, Georgia walks into Green Duck. ❤️

She’d heard what we’ve been working on for karlayurarodeoinc … and she’s come to see us .

Georgia is BT’s wife — and suddenly, in the middle of the chaos of packing, we’re standing in the shop choosing something very special for her to wear at the rodeo.

We are going to bespoke burn it here at Green Duck, then take it with us on the road.

And this is exactly what I love about what we’re building.

It started with a conversation.
Then a little red dragonfly.
Then two communities coming together.

And now, somehow, we’re packing hats, stories and people into a van and taking them north. ❤️🐉🤠

This is community.
This is connection.
And we can’t wait to see what happens next.

For weeks, we’ve been working behind the scenes to bring something very special to ’s Roebourne Rodeo.

The little red dragonfly — the symbol of Karlayura — has been at the heart of it all.

Green Duck is bringing the hats, the stories and the opportunity to have a little piece of Karlayura — including the little red dragonfly — custom burnt into your brim.

It is such a privilege to be trusted as the Hat Lady when choosing a hat to mark a moment that will never be forgotten 🇦🇺

After two visits and many hat fittings, we found the one for this absolute legend: the special edition Akubra Brumby.

The balance of the 105mm pinched teardrop crown and broad 85mm brim, the shape of the edge, the beautiful colour that lit up her face — and that incredible plaited kangaroo leather band — all played a part.

But sometimes, you just know.

“This is your hat, duckie.”

A true Australian classic, crafted for those who write their own legend

perhaps we’re spirit sisters after all. 👯‍♀️
