One of our Life Members Ivan made this table which is for sale. The photos make it look different colours but it’s the one table. It measures approx 700x600 and is $80.

At the Shed, we have sadly said goodbye to many valued members, and another one has passed away on the 12th July 2026.

George Abel was 94. George was a man with a wicked sense of fun. He was the founder/creator of the Moomba Birdman Rally.

It all started in 1971 when George, a former Royal Air Force photographer and storekeeper was searching for an entertaining way to raise funds in West Sussex England .

He bought his, in his own words, “crackpot idea” to Australia, helping with rallies in Perth and Adelaide before creating the Melbourne Moomba Birdman Rally in 1976, which has proved to be forever popular and raises funds for varied charities.

George was a valued shed member. He really enjoyed photography and updating our shed members group photo each year. Thanks George.

We were pleased to welcome Suzy Coad and Mel Freeman Hildebrand from Wombats Wish today to the Shed, to confirm our donation to their very worthwhile support group. If you can support their cause, check out their webpage.

Today Jeanette Hanley-Heath and Diane McKenzie from Kinship Carers dropped in to thank us for our donation to their very worthwhile cause. If you would like to support them, they can be contacted through the SpringDale Neighbourhood Centre.

A neighbour wanted a helicopter for her nephew, it reminded me to let you know these snazzy wooden toys are available for sale by way of an order, anytime.

We miss catching up with you all at the markets but we all still enjoy spending our Mondays and Wednesday’s together at the Shed. We’ve always got projects on the go and remember you are welcome to pop in for a visit, or if you need to purchase a gift or request help with a project.

We have an excess supply of wood chips and sawdust from aged timber, ready for gardening purposes. Please contact me directly for collection arrangements if you are unable to wait until our scheduled hours of operation, which resume on next Monday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
