Mid century LIBBEY Carousel Circus Animal drinking glasses hostess set.

I am in love, call me shallow but I do fall in love with objects of beauty easily. These highball glasses have sat in their gold caddy in someone’s crystal cabinet and have never been used.

What a thought! Too precious for anyone’s lips to sip a delicious Tom Collins from. Anything would taste better from these glasses, try to argue with me.

Each glass has a different carousel animal. Zebra, Elephant, Horse, Tiger, Lion and Giraffe set the scene against a frosted background with a generous 400ml capacity. Glasses are in excellent and immaculate condition. The gold caddy has some minor rust spots.

Glasses measure 18 cm height and 5.5 cm diameter.

A find like this is rare and seldom here in the land of Oz. Boo-hoo to us. $120 collect from Coburg or happy to post to your door.

Vintage Tahitian mother-of-pearl carved shell lamp, a popular mid-century souvenir art piece typically crafted between the 1940s and 1970s.
The translucent shade is a hand-carved black-lip pearl oyster shell (mother-of-pearl) native to French Polynesia. It is mounted on a solid hardwood base (frequently made from native Miro or rosewood).

In excellent working condition. The shell is in great shape, no chips or cracks.

Vintage Villeroy & Boch “Acapulco” lidded sugar bowl and Milk Jug both in excellent condition.
This Mid-Century Modern pattern remains one of the brand’s most highly sought-after and collectible series. Early production versions carry a blue backstamp, while pieces manufactured from the 1980s until production stopped feature a brown stamp.

Mid-century Murano glass pitcher manufactured by Gino Cenedese (Cenedese Vetri).

Gino Cenedese & Figlio (founded in Murano, Italy, in 1946).

Cenedese frequently paired the delicate, linear pattern of the transparent white mezza filigrana (half-filigree) cane work on the body with heavier, sculpted accents. The sea-serpent style handle and pedestal base utilize the cordonato d’oro technique, injecting shimmering 24k gold leaf flakes directly into the hot clear glass before shaping.

Pieces with this exact body composition, combined with the signature gold-flecked ornate handles, represent the peak of mid-century neo-classical revival experimentation popularized by the Cenedese furnace.

Oh la la.. imagine setting the mood with this lighting. A postmodern style table lamp with navy enamel metal arch, a heavy wooden base and a movable mushroom shaped shade to direct the light where you need. Wine, book and chocolate. Or cuppa, good biscuits and the remote control. Either way I think of this scenario, I’d be doing it with no bra on.

Measures 33.5 cm height, 20 cm length and 18 cm width.
