ABOUT TCTS & ME

What started as blog Notes from a Home Educator in August 2015 exploded to a community of over 31,000 social media members! It was born from the desire to share our journey around special needs, home education & learn through play. I worked full time for many years in the Kennedy family, caring for, and educating their four awesome boys: Preston, Indy, Dash and Freddie Fantastic w

ho has Down Syndrome. I was fulfilling my heart desires as I was sharing our days in Notes From a Home Educator. I always wanted to work with children of all abilities, including special needs. I truly believe in seeing the child, before seeing the diagnosis. I want to be able to meet the needs of each child without the limitations and constraints of working in a school environment. My desire was and is to support parents & carers, through tips and ideas, that we have found success with along the way! As a result of the amazing response to my blog and our emphasis on learning through play using Waldorf based toys, I realised there was a demand to sell the toys I used so enthusiastically on a daily basis, with my home educated students. In September 2017, The Creative Toy Shop was born! The Creative Toy Shop has become one of the main online distributors of wooden toys in Australia stocking major European brands like Grimm’s, Wobbel, Ostheimer and Grapat as well as other Australian brands like Let Them Play Toys, Explore Nook and Fox Wood Co. As a mother of two under two, I want to provide incredible open-ended toys and educational resources for parents and carers out there. I'm excited to showcase the products we curate in The Creative Toy Shop. These are the best products that I found successful myself.

Fred is definitely the larrikin of the crew and such a sweet happy go lucky boy. He adores his siblings and wants to keep up with them and join in all their fun.

He has loved becoming a big brother this past year and makes sure Annie knows just how much he loves her with lots of toddler kisses.
We cannot wait to see what the next year has ahead for our little Freddy boy.
