Tunnel Books is making its Adelaide debut on March 15 at Lion Arts Factory Courtyard for Westbound. We'll be selling our curated literary filth alongside some of SA's best artisans and artists.

We're stoked to be supporting this event. Renew Adelaide is a non-for-profit that activates under-utilised commercial spaces in the City of Adelaide via a flexible, rent-free model.

This Sunday, Tunnel Books will have a stall at Coledale Markets (Coledale Public School) from 9am-3pm. It's a bonny family outing full of eclectic wares, situated on a cliff above the sparkling Pacific. We're excited to rain our brand of literary hellfire on this slice of Utopia.

'Scar Lover' catapults the reader into an offbeat world of secrets, snake oil salesmen, supernatural magic, and an unlikely romance.

The prose is punchy while the Southern dialogue is lilting and idiosyncratic. Crews' poetic style allows for and aides his sometimes-sharp tonal turns, where one chapter might suggest surreal satire and the next an old-fashioned mystery.

Despite the recurring use of violent and erotic imagery, this is really quite a sweet love story - just another way Crews keeps the narrative fresh and unpredictable, as tragedy threatens to strike around every corner of this swampy gothic saga.
