Don’t throw out your old apples 🍎 Save this instead — it’s the perfect autumn dessert you’ll want to come back to it.
Slightly soft apples are actually perfect for crumble.
They cook down into that rich, jammy base we all love.
Plus with a generous amount of Planet Organic Ceylon Cinnamon this dessert is a must have.

Apple Filling:
9 apples (slightly soft or firm), peeled, cored and sliced
Juice of 1 whole lemon
1 tbsp gluten-free flour
1/3 cup coconut sugar
1 tbsp Planet Organic Ceylon Cinnamon
Crumble Topping:
1 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup flour (or almond flour for gluten-free)
1/2 cup coconut sugar
1 tsp Planet Organic Ceylon Cinnamon
100g butter or coconut oil
Pinch of salt
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C and prepare a baking dish.
2. Peel, core and chop apples. Removing any bruised pieces as you go and composting the skins.
3. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples with lemon juice, gluten-free flour, coconut sugar and cinnamon. Toss until evenly coated, then transfer to the baking dish.
4. In a separate bowl, mix oats, flour, coconut sugar, cinnamon and salt. Add the butter or coconut oil and gently work it through with your hands until a crumbly texture forms.
5. Scatter the crumble mixture evenly over the apples.
6. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the apples are soft and bubbling underneath. Serve with favourite toppings & enjoy!
