Margy Petherbridge has landed a solid 1.09m Spanish Mackerel out of Bynoe Harbour, NT 🔥🐟

A great capture and a strong entry into the MLC — especially on lighter-style setup with plenty of guts behind it 👌

This fish was taken on an Ugly Stik rod paired with a Shimano Socorro SW8000, spooled with 50lb braid and 80lb Schneider leader. No wire trace needed for this beauty!

Big congratulations Margy 👏 and a shoutout to for keeping the gear dialled in for NT action.

With the trout streams closing for the spawning season, our attention turns to lake fishing. While it can be a cold time of year on the water, dressing appropriately makes it far more comfortable and enjoyable.

I always look forward to fishing the lakes and believe it’s one of the best times of the year to target big brown trout. Streamers, hard-bodied lures, soft plastics, and vibes can all be highly effective during this period.

So don’t put the gear away just yet—the trout fishing is about to get really good. The lakes offer some fantastic opportunities, and for many anglers, this is when some of the season’s biggest fish are caught.
