Coming Soon from Hobartville Hobbies: A Neptune Worth Diving Into
How many of us have a Hasegawa 1/72 P2-V Neptune sitting patiently in the stash, waiting for that elusive burst of inspiration?
Hobartville Hobbies are about to provide it.
A new range of 3D-printed correction and detail parts is in development, designed to slot neatly into the existing Hasegawa kit and transform it into a far more accurate and rewarding model of Lockheed’s legendary submarine hunter.
The forthcoming set is planned to include:
Corrected undercarriage components
Detailed wheel-bay interiors
A fully detailed bomb bay
Additional interior detail
Best of all, these upgrades are being designed with simplicity in mind. No heroic surgery, no wrestling match with the plastic just smart, effective improvements that should make a real difference to the finished model.
And what a subject the Neptune is. Operated by air arms around the world, it wore an extraordinary variety of markings and served for decades in maritime patrol, reconnaissance and anti-submarine roles. Whether your interest is Australian, American, Dutch, French, Japanese, British or one of the many other operators, there is a Neptune story waiting to be built.
So perhaps it is time to open the cupboard, find that long-neglected Hasegawa box and move it a little closer to the workbench.
Hobartville Hobbies’ P2-V Neptune detail set is coming soon and your stash may never be safe again.
