🤎 Another of Mother Natures remarkable Masterpieces!!!🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎
Raw Astrophyllite is a somewhat rare mineral renowned for its striking, starburst-like radiating blades of bronze, gold, or copper-brown.
Usually embedded in a white/grey Albite or dark Aegirine matrix (host rock), its name translates to "star-leaf" - reflecting its unique, bladed, and metallic bronze to brown appearance.
As the crystals themselves possess perfect cleavage, they are typically left in situ, then the entire aggregate often cut into slabs and polished.
Owing to its limited availability, Astrophyllite is seldom seen in an ornamental capacity, rather mainly fashioned into jewellery or cabochons.
First discovered in 1854 in Norway, Astrophyllite is now found in a few scarce, remote locations of Canada, USA, Greenland, Norway, + Russia.
