Last year I hit a all time low. I walked out of my business one day as I felt like I had been pushed into a corner. I got home and cried my lungs out that day feeling hopeless and realized I didn’t feel like being here anymore.
My wife had mentioned calling a help line and talking to someone.
I ended up calling and speaking to a volunteer from beyond blue.
I was given some great advice from the councillor I spoke to. He mentioned trying to focus on something that I don’t usually do and add to it on a daily basis.
I ended up using this advice and wrote a children’s book.
I don’t like reading books nor do I like bugs but I wrote a children’s book about a fly I called Leo. This helped me each day to take my mind away from everything and took me to my special place.
I’m not 100 % healed by any means and I’m still on antidepressants but this book helped me at the stage I was in.
My book got published in March just gone and was ranked number 3 in best children’s books in bugs in April just gone in Australia.
With your help today and the rest of this month all my profits will be donated to beyond blue for this month (June) 2021.
