SOUR FACE sourdough bread . Permanently closed We wanted to create naturally leavened breads that use locally sourced ,where available, organic and sustainable produce .

We use a long fermentation process that produces a better tasting loaf of bread .

Sadly we have made the decision to close permanently.
We want to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful customers, each and every one of you . We have made some great friends along the way and we will really miss seeing you.
I am well and feeling back to normal but at this stage it's a mountain too high to start back up again.
Thankyou all again for your wonderful support, we can't tell you how much fun we had over the two years we were in business . Old people can start and operate a business from scratch , we had a passion and went for it and it was an amazing time.

Thankyou to our wonderful customers for your patience as we muddle through getting back to full health again. I have to see my surgeon again in December so cannot do much until I get an all clear from him.
We have made the decision to halt the business until the new year and we will announce whether we start back up again then.
The baker and I have missed our little business terribly especially all of our fantastic customers.

Sour Face has had its ups and downs in the last few months, not only held up with hospital visits but we've had other life changing events that we've had to give priority to as well.
We have some big decisions to make with Sour Face and we hope that you hang in there with us until we have a chance for everything to calm down so we can make those decisions for the longer term.
We promise to do a post as soon as possible in regards to us starting to bake again.
We apologise for the late post but we've had so much to deal with that our poor brains are well and truly fried.

Just a bit of an update about my wobbliness, this week I've undergone 2 further surgeries to address the nasty infection that got in to my original hernia surgery. I'm pleased to say I'm home now with nurse at home visiting each day to attend to drains and dressings. It's going to be a long recovery for me but I'm so pleased to be even saying the word recovery as for a while that looked unlikely.
I can't thankyou all enough for your care, messages, flowers over the last 6 weeks.
The baker is champing at the bit to start baking again but at this stage I'm just not up to assisting.
We will keep you posted about a new start date as soon as possible

Can't thank you all for your messages , when you are in hospital, on your own making decisions and dealing with some big issues you hold onto kindness very tightly.
We are having to close our little Sour Face for an indefinite time while I try and get myself
healthy again. I'm looking at more surgery tomorrow and a much more complicated surgery after that and my recovery will be a long one if all goes well.
You can imagine how we feel, we don't have to put it into words, we love our business, but the Baker is no good without me and I am no good without him so it needs the both of us to make it work.
Long post, my apologies.
We hope to be back soon but more than anything I want to get home to my wonderful family and be well

We are absolutely gutted to announce that we have had to cancel this weeks bake . We are so sorry but because I've developed a nasty infection I could be back to hospital very soon.
We know it's only bread but most that know us know that customer service is huge and to cancel a bake is heartbreaking.

Home from hospital and the Baker tells me it's all go for this week. The only change is there will be no rye crackers for a while. We may bring them back at a later date. We are doubling our foccachias this week so more of you get to try them .
