Swipe back with us — this is where Plants in a Box began.

Plants packed into grab-and-go packs, designed for retail shelves. The problem? Almost every retailer said no. But one store saw our vision. We sold maybe 10 packs, and I watered them every second morning before the school run.

We started with just 10 lines — bougainvilleas (still our best sellers today 💚), liriopes, grasses and a few favourites.

It was a true family effort. Our big girl carried more than she should have, but she always knew the end goal. Our middle one refused to work until she discovered pay day 💰 — always dreaming of New York, and yes, she made it there. And our littlest? Asleep on the keypad, our hardest worker 😴

And our first team members — never judged, just jumped in and loved our kids like their own. There’s no “we” without them.

All that rejection turned out to be our biggest blessing. We skipped the middleman and went straight to you — farm fresh, delivered to your door. From 10 lines to over 800 varieties, online only.

Throwback to the early days 🌵✨

Back when I used to hand-select our assorted cactus boxes from the most beautiful family up in Northern NSW. Their place was an absolute treasure trove — rows and rows of cacti, every shape, colour and character you could imagine.

But what I remember most was their knowledge. Generations of growing wisdom, shared so generously with every visit. I’d leave with a ute full of cacti and a head full of everything they’d taught me.

Those hand-picked boxes were something special, and honestly, it’s where my love for these spiky little legends really took root.
