Another step closer to bringing the Toyota Stout doors together.

64 toyota stout is hammerforming the corner sections using a simple plywood sandwich jig to accurately reproduce all four pieces. Once formed, the sections were TIG welded together before the welds were cleaned up and dressed on the Machineryhouse dolly stand.

With the excess material trimmed away, the finished pieces could then be fitted into the lower section of the doors, bringing all the individual panels one step closer to becoming a complete door.

Great fabrication, careful planning and a simple jig proving that you don’t always need complicated tooling to achieve accurate results.

From welding clean-up to 5-axis machining ⚙️🔥

Steele Co has been putting in the work on these parts for Hyperion Systems, with some post-welding clean-up and precision 5-axis machining before they head off for heat treating.

Once they’re back, the team at Hyperion Systems can get back to printing some hectic stuff. 👀
