Born in 1985 in Paddington, Ariel is one of Sydney’s oldest independent bookshops. However, that doesn’t mean that we’ve stopped our search for the best new titles in art, design and culture. Freshly released fiction sits aside staff favourites, aesthetic coffee table tomes, architectural digests and quirky, cult classics. And if it isn't holding a book, our shelves brim with a unique selection of

knickknacks and homewares. Not only a bookshop but a sanctuary for panic-present buyers, we try hard to ensure that there is a gift (or card) for everyone! Oh, and did we mention that we do complimentary gift wrapping too? We'd love it if you took a seat and stayed a while, and as you do, you might even see that glint of cheekiness in Ariel’s eye … she’s one old lady with a lot of new tricks!
