New leather for a fabulous old buckle.

Also...I think these photos are a pretty good example of fast fashion vs slow fashion. Fast fashion, despite all of its fancy labels, is not made to last - they want you to keep buying it, repeatedly. Its antithesis is slow fashion - made well, made to last. (Granted this is an older belt, but at that thickness it was never going to last long.)

Frequently asked questions.

'Can you copy this for me?'

That depends. If we're talking about a repair or replacement part that needs to be authentic or to spec, then yes, if it can reasonably be done.

If you're asking me to copy someone else's unique design? Then no. As a professional courtesy, I don't copy other makers' designs. It's disrespectful to both makers, as well as the original client if that was a bespoke piece.

Just how many is a clutch of keyrings? A handful? If so, here's a clutch fresh off the bench, and heading into Bohemian De'cor tomorrow!

I do love making these. Bridle leather, hand stitched, solid brass or stainless steel nameplates - they're made to carry your keys forever, through all the journeys and stages of your life.

Lovedlovedloved making these purses from beautiful old saddles, long past their original use. As usual, it's starting with an idea and then letting the leather and its life marks, the patina, do the talking, with some helping hands (mine) and a little discussion between saddler (past) and maker (present).

And now they're ready for a new life with two wonderful ladies - thank you for trusting in the process!
