That’s a ton of dead bees out there front of one of my hives. That’s the reality that beekeepers are facing with Varoa Mite infestations rampant. Bees are born weak, sick & covered with mites and don’t survive long. I’m hoping I caught this one in time and will be able to nurse it back to health but time will tell.

Today is the day that marked the change in how we manage our bees. The little spec on the drone brood is a Varoa Mite. These tiny Varoa Mites will decimate our hives and put them under so much pressure that we will lose hives despite our best efforts.

However, we are committed to Beegle Honey being just pure honey, free from chemicals (at least that we use) and we are geared up and ready to fight off this pest. We have spent upwards of $10k on equipment to help us do this. It’s not cheap (we had to sell a car to get the funds) but we believe tha pure honey is worth it. Stay tuned for more from us as we embark on the journey to fight the varoa Mite.
