Mallacoota Quilt Drive Update:

With the announcement that Melbourne will be re entering Stage 3 restrictions we will no longer be able to travel to Mallacoota to deliver all your beautiful quilts at this time.

As you can imagine we are so disappointed but as someone who is immune suppressed I understand the importance of getting on top of these outbreaks.

We will keep you updated & thank you for your patience & understanding.

Mallacoota Quilt Drive Update:

We have secured accommodation in Mallacoota & will finally be on our way to deliver all your beautiful quilts!!

At this stage we are still allowed to travel so we will be leaving from in Eltham next Friday the 10th July! 🎉

If you have a last minute quilt to donate please ensure you have it dropped off by Thursday 9th July.

💕We now have an amazing total of 72 quilts!!! 💕

We will be posting photos along the way as well as when they are delivered so please keep a look out for your quilt as it might be in one of the photos.

💕 Mallacoota Quilt Drive Update 💕

Last week we should have been in the beautiful Mallacoota, giving out all the quilts that have been so generously donated! But unfortunately traveling there is not an option with the current restrictions. I have been in contact with Anne from the Mallacoota District Health & Support Service Centre to discuss organising delivery of the quilts to Mallacoota but she has asked me to wait until we can bring them ourselves. She believes the women from the local craft group who will be receiving them & passing them out to those most in need, would appreciate getting to meet us & hearing some of the stories from you all as to why you chose to donate your amazing creations.

If you have a quilt you wish to donate the cut off date has now been extended. I have also spoken to the lovely ladies at & at this stage we ask if you could please hold on to your quilts while these restrictions are in place & once they are lifted we will announce a drop off week to make our final collection before we head up there.

I really look forward to when we can travel to these beautiful parts of our state again & support them as they get back in their feet.

This is my beautiful granddaughter Mia. She is the reason we are called Miss Mia's Sewing Room. Today she will be celebrating her 3rd birthday in heaven & we will be wishing she was here. She was taken from us by Myocarditis an infection in her heart. There was no time for goodbyes & our lives have been forever changed. She was a beautiful happy baby who was adored by her mum & had her dad twisted around her little finger. She loved strawberries even on her veggies. She would twirl her hands & feet when she was excited, loved formula one racing & skrinkled up her little nose when she smiled & she adored Peppa Pig. Happy birthday baby girl, Nonna loves you 💕

My current hibernation project. 🧶

A chevron blanket made with easy crochet stitches. This is a great beginners crochet project because if you can count you can make this blanket! The edges are the trickiest part, but don't worry I can help you with that! As soon as our sewing room doors can reopen we will release our timetable including our beginners crochet classes. When buying threads for your next project be sure to get good quality! A good quality thread is finer & more even ensuring they thread smoothly through your sewing machine's tension discs to give you a beautiful even stitch.

💕 Little tip from Miss Mia 💕 Remember if you are sewing a quilt to fill 2 bobbins to get you through the whole project.

Unfortunately due to Covid-19 our drop off point has had to close temporarily so if you have a quilt you wish to donate to our please get in contact with us & we may be able come & pick them up from you if you are local or we may ask you to hold on to them until all this passes.

Miss Mia's Sewing Room is taking a Sewing break 🧵💕

As someone who is immune suppressed I understand the importance of staying home during this outbreak, so I'm temporarily closing the sewing room doors until it is safe for us all to reopen.

I am still going to spend this time creating so please contact us via DMs or email if you need some tips with your hibernation project or would like to purchase any of our handmade goods & fabric.
