DUBBO PRIME SHEEP & LAMB MARKET REPORT 3.8.26
Numbers fell by 700 for a yarding of 16100 lambs. It was a very mixed yarding with fair numbers of well finished heavy and trade weight lambs along with good numbers of secondary plainer lambs mixed throughout. Not all the regular buyers were operating in a fluctuating market.
Trade lambs were $12 cheaper with the 20kg to 24kg lambs selling from $228 to $295 to average between 1110c and 1175c/kg cwt. Trade weight new season lambs sold from $250 to $283/head. Heavy weight lambs finished firm with the 24kg to 30kg lambs selling from $274 to $343 to average 1150c/kg cwt. The lambs over 30kg sold from $336 to $359/head. Trade weight Merino lambs were firm to $6 cheaper while the heavy weights were $11/head cheaper. Trade weight Merinos sold from $180 to $292 while the heavy weights sold from $280 to $320/head. Crossbred and exotic lambs to the restockers were up to $20 cheaper selling from $130 to $278/head. Merino lambs to the restockers sold from $77 to $170/head. Hoggets sold to $298/head.
There were 6600 mutton yarded where most grades were up to $25/head cheaper. Merino ewes sold from $93 to $278 while crossbred ewes sold from $140 to $283/head. Merino wethers sold from $107 to $250 and crossbred wethers sold to $298/head. Most sheep ranged in price from 770c to 810c/kg cwt.
