Well it’s been a while but I have had a couple of productive days doing my resin jewellery. Going to set myself a goal, one day/night a week to create ❤️

After 12 months of self imposed “no jewellery making” it felt like coming home to start back again. Resin is probably my favourite ‘go to’ and throwing a little bit of wire wrapping and polymer clay in there helps to mix things up. Christmas is coming so the timing seemed perfect to start back. If you see something you would like to buy, let me know. Orders for colours or styles can also be taken. Or if you need some jewellery to match ‘that outfit’ we can work together and make it!

My jewellery lessons with Natalie Kube Fine Jewellery finished today with the completion of a sterling silver textured ring. I started by annealing the sterling silver ingot and then putting it through a press. It was a process that continued until the approximate length was reached. Then it was bending, filing, hammering - again continuing until the two ends met without any gap. Then began the soldering. Once that was finished it was putting the roundish (more oval at this point) metal onto the ring mandrel and the hammering and shaping it into a round ring. Off the mandrel and the filing began. Next it was texturing the sides of the ring with the back of a rounded hammer. Back into the mandrel and hitting the main surface to mark it and to make it increase in size to the ring size I wanted. Finally it was sanding the inside and polishing the inside. Stamping 925 (sterling silver marking) and buffing and polishing on the material wheels on the grinder. Finished product - absolutely thrilled and amazed that I made this ❤️. Thank you Natalie Kube Fine Jewellery - love you work and your tuition. Would I recommend Natalie - every day of the week, awesome 🙋‍♀️😀

Busy cutting glass, foiling and soldering my new leadlight glass earrings and pendants. Some finishing touches to be done and then they will be ready for sale 😀

Collecting some of the most amazing sea glass from the beaches in Chania, Crete in Greece. I can’t wait to include these gorgeous pieces of glass in my jewellery. I Googled Sea Glass just to see whether it was worth seeking it out and it sure is - it has history and romance all wrapped up together. So having just arrived back from a couple of hours fossicking, I have some great little goodies and can’t wait to head off again. Watch this space!!!
