It's been a busy week! The parts bins are now full of vintage drum surprises, having made room for the entire Billy Hydes Drumcraft workshop, parts bins and drawers units, meaning we now have one of the largest collections of drum parts in the country. Here's a few shots of the workshop with jobs being processed plus lots of sorting and repacking going on!

Australian Army Band Sydney bass drum on the bench for reinforcement mods and new skins. One week out from the Anzac Day street march in Sydney CBD...... No pressure!

Lefima Belt tune Baroque timpani - 10 year service means its time for the belt to be replaced. These belts break when they get beyond 10 years of student life at Sydney Conservatorium of Music, and this is the second one to do just that. Luckily the new belts were ordered in time from Germany, and heres the process in a handful of photos.

Sydney Symphony Orchestra have been a customer since my first assignment in 1992. It was a treat to work on these Ringer timpani again after I did a major overhaul on them in 2006. Since then they have been re-manufactured in Berlin by Dorfler Percussion. And beautifully done too. Today's visit was addressing wheel issues, but nice to be in the "House" again.
