Another busy week in the bookshop, our sale table is still up and the Global Book Crawl starts tomorrow!
Here’s what we’ve been reading in the meantime: a man accidentally destroys his phone right before an important interview and ploughs ahead without recording; a cosy cross-section of life, marriage, and family in 1980s-90s New York; an introspective yet piquant character study consisting of finely observational scenes; and a faintly surreal novel about a woman whose life is sent off tilt after the family dog bites her hand.
Drop in for a peruse, and to get your passports stamped!

Naomi — Transcription by Ben Lerner

Eamonn — A Big Storm Knocked it Over by Laurie Colwin

Steve — The Palm House by Gwendoline Riley

Ailsa — The Shadow of the Object by Chloe Aridjis
