Meet the Knights of the Australian Jousting Championship – Lady Sienna Poynton

One of the rising stars of Australian jousting, Lady Sienna Poynton has wasted no time making her mark. After beginning her training in 2024 under Sir Clifford and Lady Renae Marisma with The Company of the Black Spur, she made her public debut at the Mount Gambier Medieval Fair 2025—and, after just five months of training, rode away as Champion of the Joust.

A lifelong equestrian, Sienna brings years of experience in the saddle to the lists. From dressage and show jumping to bronc riding, she has mastered a wide range of riding disciplines and now turns her focus to becoming one of Australia's top jousters.

A familiar and highly respected figure on the Australian jousting circuit, Sir Gregory Nash has earned a reputation for his exceptional craftsmanship, sportsmanship, and dedication to historical authenticity. Not only does he compete in the lists, but he also forges his own armour—a testament to his mastery of both the knightly and artisan traditions.

Recognised with the prestigious Order of St Ives and a Fellow of the Order of the Star, Sir Gregory has consistently achieved high-ranking finishes in tournaments across Australia. Among his many honours is being named "Most Worthy" at the renowned Tournament of the Golden Tree, one of the highest accolades a jouster can receive.

Meet the Knights of the Australian Jousting Championship – Sir Sean Penny

One of Australia's emerging jousting talents, Sir Sean Penny has turned a passion for history into a relentless pursuit of excellence in the lists. Since beginning his journey in 2023 after a chance meeting with Sir Rod Walker, Sean has dedicated himself to mastering horsemanship and tournament combat as a squire with The Company of the Hound.

Throughout his training, Sean has had the privilege of serving alongside some of Australia's finest jousters, including Sir Andrew McKinnon, Sir Rodney Deaman, and Lady Liberty Deaman. He enters this weekend's championship in outstanding form after claiming victory in the Skill at Arms at the Tournament of St Rocio in Blacktown, NSW.

Having previously competed at Kryal Castle during the Tournament of the Golden Tree, Sean now returns determined to build on that experience and honour the training and guidance of his mentors.

Bearing the banner of three golden bear claws and mounted upon her mighty warhorse Fat Amy—the legendary "ten-tonne terror"—she has become one of Australia's most exciting emerging jousters.

Training under Sir Clifford and Lady Renae Marisma, Samantha has earned a reputation for unwavering determination and formidable skill. Recently knighted as a key member of the Order of the Spur, she continues to prove herself as a warrior destined to make her mark across the world of medieval combat.
