Fantastic news! Twenty-one years ago I was commissioned by the Qld Biennial Festival of Music to write the lyrics for a choral symphony about the mighty Fitzroy River titled the Rockhampton Gardens Symphony No 2: "The River". The piece was composed by the incomparable Elena Kats-Chernin.

The premier was performed in 2003 by a host of local musicians, including all the choirs and both brass bands in the city of Rockhampton, all conducted by the magnificent Roland Peelman.

Now, this August, it will be performed once again. This time by the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Peter Luff with Birralee Voices, (directed by Paul Holley) and soloists Kira Dooner (soprano), and Cameron Bryer (tenor).

I can't wait. Tickets selling fast. See you there!
