Aussie author and illustrator Aaron Blabey is a titan in the world of children’s publishing. He has around 60 million books in print, has an impressive backlist of titles and his books have been translated into many languages. And his latest middle grade series is clever, funny, silly and offers some issues to think about. I’m keen to see how much kids love this one. Congrats Aaron Blabey Congrats Pan Macmillan Australia

Shaun Tan is the incredibly talented Australian author and illustrator , the creator of ‘The Arrival’ , ‘The Lost Thing’ and ‘Tales from Outer Suburbia’. ‘Hometown’ is his latest and it has been worth the wait. It is visually stunning, curious, magical and inspiring. It is a fascinating companion book to ‘The Arrival’, this time focusing on the power of home. I loved the line ‘Gravity keeps me here. Or love, which is kind of the same thing’. I need to reread this, again and again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m a huge fan of this dynamic duo Lisa Nicol and - and this is definitely one of my favourite picture-books of the moment. It’s a fable for our times about the relentless pursuit of ‘better’. I’m a big fan of this series by Carla Fitzgerald Author , a series of stand alone middle grade stories that are humorous, completely engaging and full of heart, a series encouraging its young readers to put themselves out there, to be authentic and have a go, The latest in the series is about sport, friendship and resilience- and once again, it’s a really fun read.
