And that’s a wrap on the chase the kraken comp for this year. Big thanks to everyone that entered. Geordie Mackenzie took out the comp with a 46cm tube and taking home $1176. Three way tie for second between Nicko siemer, Reuel George and Rob darling all at 44cm. Best Harimitsu photo went to Cody king, other photo went to Jesse Smithson. Sam Skillington walked away with the random draw prize.

Our biggest one ever with 97 entries, it’s great to see so many people out fishing during these cooler months.

March fishing report!

It’s was a winder than usual March, the offshore classic was horrible conditions but there was a few decent boating days throughout the month.
Mondrian area has been fishing well for thumping nanny’s and smaller sized sambos. Good reports of kingfish out wide in all sizes. The tuna have been very hit and miss, around figure of 8 and boxer islands have been the most consistent spots for them. The odd tuna has showed up around Cull island. Drifting south of chapmans point early in the morning has been producing large sand whiting. Reports of some big captures of squid around cook rocks in 13-15m of water. The bay has been producing monster herring in insane numbers and squid.

Israelite back beach was rough towards the end of the month and hard to access. Thomas river and poison creek have been fishing well for smaller sized mulloway and gummy sharks around the 7kg mark. Plenty of salmon schools around roses beach and 14 mile. Stockyards has been producing thumping flathead and good numbers of sand whiting in the afternoons.
Both the Jetty’s have been fishing great for herring and squid at night.

Congrats to Jesse smithson for his cracking mulloway shot earning him a $50 voucher for this month
