Another postcard from Esperance šŸ’Œ

Meet Emma! She loves our beautiful beaches, catching up with her mates and enjoying a visit to the local brewery.

She also found the perfect reminder of her time here—one of our Esperance tote bags! A little piece of Esperance to carry wherever she goes. šŸŒŠā˜€ļø

Thanks for sharing your Esperance story with us, Emma!

Frenchman Peak from an angle you don’t often see.

I love how the early morning light catches the granite while the sky shifts from deep blue into soft pink and gold. From above, you can really see how Frenchman Peak rises almost unexpectedly from the surrounding Cape Le Grand landscape.

Have you climbed Frenchman Peak—or is it still on your Esperance list?

Frenchman Peak as you’ve never seen it before… OK it's kind of dark šŸ˜†

A first attempt at night-sky timelapse photography—capturing 165 images over 65 minutes as the stars appeared to sweep above Frenchman Peak.

The glow and light pollution from Esperance certainly weren’t helping, but I’m pleased with how this first experiment came together. There’s something remarkable about watching the night sky move above one of our most iconic ancient landscapes.

Hopefully, this is the first of many.

A bloke visiting from Tasmania reckoned the fishing was the best part of Esperance…

Then he admitted he’d caught stuff all! šŸ˜‚

Obviously, he wasn’t using our lures or squid rigs!

The best part? He turned around wearing one of our Hawaiian shirts:

WTF — Where’s The Fish?

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves! 🤣

If on a phone click on image to get a closer veiw . Otherwise you might miss it

We didn’t notice it straight away—but once you see it, it’s hard to unsee.

Can you spot something slightly eerie hiding in this view of Thistle Cove?

Tell us what you see—but don’t give away exactly where it is! šŸ¤«šŸ‘‡

A little burst of colour at Lucky Bay 🌺

We spotted this beautiful native flowering right beside our campsite at Lucky Bay. We believe it’s a Woolly Net-bush, also known as the Silky Net-bush—an Esperance wildflower especially at home around Cape Le Grand National Park.

Its brilliant red, brush-like flowers certainly stand out against the coastal bushland. Sometimes the smallest discoveries are what make camping in this part of the world so special.

Can any of our local wildflower experts confirm the identification?

This time, we met a lovely lady from Kalgoorlie who shared what keeps bringing her back to Esperance.

For her, it's the fresh salt air, the crystal-clear water, and those white sandy beaches... a pretty nice change from the red dust back home.

It’s always interesting hearing what visitors love most about Esperance, because everyone has their own story to tell.

If you're from Kalgoorlie (or anywhere else!), what’s the one thing that keeps drawing you back to Esperance?

Esperance can have 4 seasons in one day - today we were blessed with two seasons in one day, and what an end to the day it was!

Half an hour earlier it was bucketing down with rain. By sunset, West Beach was glowing, the granite was shining, and the Southern Ocean was putting on one of those shows that reminds you why we call this place home.
